IATF 16949 Implementation Executive Overview
Purpose:
The purpose of this training seminar is to familiarize the learner with the background, evolution, and structure of the
IATF16949 Quality Management Systems Requirements Standard, and how organizations can become registered to
the standard by a certification body (registrar). This course is aimed at company owners and managers who intend
to implement IATF 16949 in their organization.
Duration:
2 Days. Scheduled class time is 8:00 to 4:00 PM.
Training Overview:
This course is designed to equip the learner with a working knowledge of the IATF16949 automotive quality
management systems requirements standard. It is designed to meet the needs of managers and decision makers
who are (1) needing to begin quality management system implementation planning and registrar selection activities,
or (2) employed in an organization that has IATF 16949 implemented and they need to understand the purpose of
the standard, how the system works, and how to maintain it. With the knowledge gained from the course, learners
will be better prepared to address the management commitments required by the standard and monitor
achievement of quality objectives and system effectiveness through management review. The course includes self-
check and discussion sessions to reinforce learning. as well as hands-on activities. During the activity sessions
learners will use the IATF 16949 standard to build a brief audit checklist, examine and document a process with a
turtle diagram, and organize a management review meeting.

Elements of the standard,

Process Approach, Customer Focus, and Core Tools

Measurement, analysis, and improvement, and

Management commitment and the role of the registrar

Upon completion of the training the learner should be equipped to:

Explain the purpose of the IATF 16949 Standard and who needs it

Explain the relationship of Core Tools and customer-focused processes

Prepare a process turtle diagram

Explain the purpose and types of internal audits

Define process approach, process mapping, and certification body (registrar)

Explain the purpose of the quality policy and quality objectives

Explain and diagram the path to IATF 16949 certification
