Advanced Product Quality Planning - Methods and Application Purpose: The purpose of this training seminar is to familiarize the learner with the guidelines and processes for advanced product quality planning. Duration: 4 Hours. Scheduled class time is TBD Training Overview: This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the basic knowledge requirements for accomplishing advanced product quality planning (APQP) to support requirements specified in IATF 16949 and applicable customer-specific requirements. With the knowledge gained from the course, learners will understand how the tools, procedures and reporting requirements specified in the Advanced Product Quality Planning and Control Plan reference manual are used to meet these requirements. Specific Key topics to be addressed: Activities involved in executing APQP Discussion of example control plans Discuss the APQP process steps (control plan methodology) Analytical techniques for APQP Discussion of customer requirements and Voice of the Customer Hands-on training activities: Prepare cause and effect diagram Assemble a simple control plan Training Objectives: Upon completion of the training the learner should be equipped to: o Explain the purpose of APQP o Name three major phases of the control plans o Explain what is meant by Voice of the Customer o Explain the purpose of control plan methodology o Draw a basic cause and effect diagram o Explain the purpose of checklists and name four examples Resources: Class handouts and materials, and a certificate of completion will be included with the course. Example control plans and procedures produced by the attendees' organization may be presented and used during the seminar. Attendees must obtain approval from their organization before bringing these materials to the seminar.
