Production Part Approval Process - Methods and Application Purpose: The purpose of this training seminar is to familiarize the learner with the guidelines and processes for advanced product quality planning. Duration: 4 Hours. Scheduled class time is TBD Training Overview: This course is designed to familiarize the learner with the basic knowledge requirements for the production part approval process (PPAP) as specified in the AIAG PPAP Manual, 4th Edition. The seminar provides an overview of submission and specific requirements for part approval records/sample retention, and part-submission status. Forms used in the PPAP process are reviewed. Specific Key topics to be addressed: Review procedures, reporting requirements, and activities specified by the AIAG PPAP manual for executing the production part approval process. Discussion of example PPAP forms Discuss the PPAP process steps for submission and specific requirements for part approval records/sample retention Hands-on training activities: PPAP Flowchart Training Objectives: Upon completion of the training the learner should be equipped to: o Explain the purpose of PPAP and to whom it applies o Explain applicability of PPAP o Identify four circumstances where PPAP submission would be required o Explain conditions that warrant notification of authorized customer representative o Explain levels of evidence and identify the default level for all submissions o Explain categories of approval status and identify record retention requirements Resources: Class handouts and materials, and a certificate of completion will be included with the course. Example PPAP documents and procedures produced by the attendees' organization may be presented and used during the seminar. Attendees must obtain approval from their organization before bringing these materials to the seminar.
